Nikki Harmon is one of our 6 SIFTers awarded a Local Filmmaker Fund 2025 grant by Independence Public Media Foundation (IPMF).  She has begun pre-production on her short film NOW & AGAIN – A black lesbian sci-fi romance. 
Logline: A random encounter with an old high school acquaintance compels college student and aspiring scientist, Kim, to harness a strange new ability in hopes that it will help her make a romantic connection.

Nikki @nikkiharmon19 shot her short film NOW & AGAIN mid August 2025 –  A black lesbian sci-fi romance. Shot in West Oak Lane/Mt. Airy/Wynnefield/East Falls & Cheltenham with a tremendously talented cast and crew, including fellow SIFTer Bettina Escauriza  as Creative Producer.  

PRODUCTION SHOOTING DATES: 
Friday, Saturday & Sunday in Philadelphia mid-August 2025 (exact details TBD)

LOCATION SCOUTING:

LOOKING FOR A LOCATION: Twin or Row House with large front window on a residential street in EAST FALLS, WEST OAK LANE, EAST MT. AIRY OR GERMANTOWN. It should have at least 5 front steps from sidewalk to the front door. You should be able to look up at the front of the house. It should be well cared for but not new construction or look too “wealthy”.
 
We will need access to the house to light the front room and hang a white or beige curtain for shadows. We would need to use the house for bathrooms and meals for cast & crew.
 
It needs to have 2 shootable bedrooms – at least one with a window that has a view of the sky.
The street has to be a “film-friendly” street – reasonably safe, not busy with traffic, wide enough for camera set-ups on opposite sidewalks, and shooting in the car.
 
We can offer $150/day for a 2-day location rental. We do have insurance. Feel free to share.
