A SONG FOR NIA is a Dramedy Series written/directed/produced by SIFTer Eboni Zamani, loosley based on her own life. The series is presently in post-production, any donations would be greatly appreciated. Here’s a link to the FUNDING PAGE under Eboni’s Production Company, Pearl’s Girl Productions.

Let’s take a closer look at A SONG FOR NIA…

Logline: The death of her cousin brings a young black woman back to Philadelphia where she must confront all the people and circumstances that she left behind.

Synopsis: Nia, a young Black creative living in LA, comes home for her cousin’s funeral.  Nia has been disconnected from family and friends since she chose to place her dreams over the life she left behind in Philly. “A Song for Nia” will be a deep dive into Nia’s journey to self-acceptance through grief, love and accountability.  Her journey will coincide and at times collide with those of her family, friends, and community.  Family dynamics collapse as loved ones are lost. Each six-episode season will present the hardship and absurdity of grief.  In the words of Grandmom Francis’ “I’ve lost my son.  I’ve lost my grandkids. I’ve buried my love. Part of me is broken in ways that time just can’t heal.”
