Leeway Foundation Grant Programs and Awards
Leeway Foundation’s grantmaking programs fund women, trans*, and gender nonconforming artists and cultural producers living in Greater Philadelphia (Bucks, Camden, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia Counties), who engage in art and social change work.
With the ideals of social change in mind, Leeway Foundation created these programs to challenge the norms of traditional grantmaking.
We seek to recognize artists whose work is often ignored, silenced, and marginalized because of what they create or who they are – such as people of color; immigrants; queer, trans*, and/or gender nonconforming folks; poor and working-class people; and people who take risks with art form and content to share their social change vision.
*Leeway is a trans-affirming organization committed to gender self-determination, and we use the term “trans” in its most inclusive sense, as an umbrella term encompassing transsexual, transgender, genderqueer, Two-Spirit people, and anyone whose gender identity or gender expression is nonconforming and/or different from their gender assigned at birth.
